Crisis Text Line is seeking a nonprofit industry corporate and foundation grant writing expert who is highly motivated and will write winning proposals to secure critical funding for our organization. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for persuasive writing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to turn complex information into persuasive, compelling narratives.

The Senior Grants Manager leads the start-to-finish process of grant and proposal process. This role will drive the research, pursuit, and writing for philanthropic and corporate-based grants related to mental health. The Senior Grants Manager will be primarily responsible for identifying, preparing, and submitting proposals, managing accounts, and reporting on funded projects and proposals. This role will influence funding strategy and support the expanding initiatives and vision of the Advancement team.

The primary responsibility is to conduct the full range of activities required to research, write, coordinate the preparation with appropriate colleagues, submit, and manage grant proposals.

Grant Sourcing and Writing

Independently research potential grant prospects and collaborate internally to identify opportunities that align with Crisis Text Line’s mission.
Pursue new grant opportunities by identifying and writing grant proposals and responses to RFPs related to mental health or other topics as prioritized by the organization.
Write comprehensive and detailed reports in compliance with grant and contract schedule requirements.
Assist development, research, and executive stakeholders in assessing and writing foundation grant applications as needed.
Stay informed about industry trends, funding opportunities, and regulations

Grant Management

Lead our philanthropic and corporate grants process from identification to application and reporting.
Manage existing grant opportunities at the philanthropic and corporate foundation levels.
Coordinate deliverables for philanthropic and corporate grants with relevant departments at Crisis Text Line, such as Clinical, Learning, Research & Impact, and Volunteer Experience.
Edit, proofread, and maintain proposal templates and guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Track and report on proposal submissions, outcomes, and deliverables.
Create and execute multi-year grant strategies to diversify funding sources and maximize revenue potential.
Proactively identify new funding verticals or emerging grant opportunities based on market trends.
Design and implement a grant performance tracking system to measure outcomes and identify areas of improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Maintain strong cross-functional relationships with internal teams including but not limited to Business Development, Marketing and Communications, Legal, Finance, Technology Team, Research & Impact, and other teams necessary to support the grant process.
Attend regular meetings with Business Development’s leadership and team to strategize and collaborate around driving revenue for the organization.

External Representation

Serve as a spokesperson to foundations and funders, articulating Crisis Text Line’s mission and programs.
Lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals, including research, content gathering, and collaboration with subject matter experts.
Represent the organization at industry meetings, conferences, and fundraising events.
Cultivate and manage high-level relationships with foundation and corporate funders to deepen partnerships and increase long-term investment.

Qualifications:

7+ years of professional nonprofit experience writing and securing large philanthropic and corporate grants
Advanced proficiency in grant writing for six and seven-figure grant responses, with a strong success rate
Knowledge of mental health, nonprofit and community services
Advanced organizational skills, with regard to confidentiality
Highly proficient in corporate and philanthropic grant processes and account management
Financial knowledge of budget creation and reporting

Reliable High-Speed Internet Required: Must have a stable high-speed internet connection to support seamless remote collaboration, virtual meetings, online job tasks, etc.

The full salary range for this position, across all United States geographies, is $79,000 to $105,000 per year. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience; during the interview process, candidates will learn the starting salary range applicable for their location. We pay competitively in the tech-forward nonprofit space and offer a robust benefits package.
